FAQs

Do We Really Need a Wedding Planner?

For multi-day destination weddings across Marbella and Southern Spain, having an experienced wedding planner is not simply about aesthetics — it is about creating a seamless and meaningful experience for both the couple and their guests.

Beyond design and supplier coordination, full-service planning involves overseeing logistics, timelines, guest experience, budgeting, production, and the countless moving parts that come with celebrating abroad across several days and locations.

Without a dedicated point of coordination, responsibilities often fall to family members, venues, or suppliers, which can lead to unnecessary stress, miscommunication, and a less cohesive experience overall.

Our role is to thoughtfully guide every aspect of the celebration from the earliest stages of planning through to the final guest departure — allowing our couples to feel fully present and truly enjoy the experience alongside the people they love most.

For destination weddings across Marbella and Southern Spain, we generally recommend beginning the planning process 12 to 18 months in advance, particularly for multi-day celebrations involving several venues and guest experiences.

Starting early allows ample time to secure the right venues and trusted creative partners, while ensuring every aspect of the celebration is planned with care, intention, and attention to detail. It also provides the opportunity to approach decisions thoughtfully and without unnecessary pressure.

While shorter planning timelines are certainly possible, they can sometimes limit availability and flexibility, especially during peak wedding seasons in Andalusia and along the Mediterranean coast.

For international couples planning from abroad, allowing additional time can also make the process feel far more seamless — from guest accommodations and travel arrangements to invitations, logistics, and overall coordination throughout the celebration.

An effortless wedding experience is the result of thoughtful planning, careful coordination, and attention to every detail behind the scenes.

Clear timelines, experienced teams, and intentional organisation allow each part of the celebration to unfold naturally — creating an atmosphere where both the couple and their guests can feel relaxed, present, and fully immersed in the experience.

When every detail is thoughtfully considered, transitions feel natural, logistics remain unobtrusive, and the celebration flows with ease from one moment to the next.

For us, true luxury lies not in visible complexity, but in creating celebrations that feel calm, meaningful, and beautifully effortless throughout.

The budget required to plan a destination wedding in Marbella or across Andalusia can vary significantly depending on the size of the celebration, guest count, venue selection, level of production, and the overall experience envisioned for both the couple and their guests.

For multi-day destination weddings, it is important to consider not only the aesthetic aspects of the celebration, but also the logistics involved behind the scenes — including transportation, staffing, guest hospitality, technical production, and coordination across multiple events and locations.

In many cases, initial budgets are established before the full scope of the celebration is fully understood. As planning progresses and priorities become clearer, couples often gain a better understanding of the elements required to create the experience they truly envision.

This does not necessarily mean the budget must increase significantly, but rather that thoughtful planning allows for informed decisions, meaningful investment, and the right balance between beauty, guest experience, and overall production.

Our role is to guide couples through this process with honesty, transparency, and careful consideration — ensuring every decision feels intentional, aligned with priorities, and supportive of the overall experience they wish to create.

At a certain level, the success of a wedding is defined not only by how it looks, but by how it feels for everyone experiencing it. The atmosphere, flow of the celebration, comfort of guests, and the ease with which each moment unfolds often leave a far more lasting impression than any individual design element alone.

For destination weddings in particular, guest experience becomes an essential part of the planning process. Travel, transportation, accommodation, timing, and the overall flow of events all contribute to how relaxed, immersed, and connected guests feel throughout the celebration.

Thoughtful planning helps ensure every part of the experience feels effortless — from smooth arrivals and clear communication to well-paced itineraries and comfortable transitions between venues and events.

Many of the decisions made throughout the planning process are therefore guided not only by aesthetics, but by the desire to create an atmosphere where both the couple and their guests can feel fully present, cared for, and able to genuinely enjoy every moment together.

Weather plays an important role in shaping wedding timelines and the overall flow of destination celebrations in Marbella and across Southern Spain.

From late spring through early autumn, Andalusia offers long days, warm temperatures, and an outdoor lifestyle that naturally lends itself to multi-day celebrations and al fresco experiences. June through September are generally considered the most reliable months for outdoor weddings, with warm evenings and consistently sunny conditions along the Mediterranean coast.

July and August tend to be the hottest months of the year, making thoughtful scheduling, guest comfort, and well-considered event timing especially important. Spring and autumn can also be particularly beautiful periods to celebrate, offering softer light, milder temperatures, and a more relaxed atmosphere, although weather conditions can occasionally be less predictable.

As seasonal patterns continue to evolve in recent years, flexibility and thoughtful contingency planning have become an increasingly important part of designing seamless outdoor celebrations.

Our role is to carefully guide couples through these considerations — ensuring each event feels comfortable, effortless, and beautifully adapted to both the setting and the season.

There are four ceremony options for couples planning to marry in Spain:

  1. Civil ceremony in Spain — possible only when one member of the couple has been a domiciled resident in Spain for at least two years.
  2. Civil ceremony in Gibraltar — just an hour away, ideal if you’d like to be legally married during your trip. It can be followed by a symbolic ceremony or blessing in mainland Spain.
  3. Catholic church ceremony — a legally binding religious marriage.
  4. Civil ceremony in the UK followed by a blessing or symbolic ceremony in Spain — a very popular option that saves money and removes the paperwork.

Let us take care of the legal paperwork so you don’t have to. With years of extensive knowledge, you can relax knowing we’ll guide you through every step.
